Cobra Von Scotlynburgh (RENZO) competed in his first AKC Rally match. There were a total of 14 dogs in the Novice A group and Renzo finished in 3rd place with 84 points. Congratulations to Dorothy and Renzo for doing such a wonderful job together! We look forward to hearing more about Renzo and his future success in AKC Rally competitions.

19 January

Bronx Von Scotlynburgh (IVAN) finished the third leg of his AKC CD (Companion Dog) title in 2nd place, with 192 points. Judge Louise C. Botko expressed her pleasure watching Ivan's routine and commented on how impressed she was with his overall performance. Congratulations Freddie and Ivan for yet another job well done!

2007

29 December

Bronx Von Scotlynburgh (IVAN) passed his Canine Good Citizens test under AKC evaluator Dana Wray. Ivan has matured into quite an impressive young dog, showing great promise with AKC obedience, on the Schutzhund field, in German conformation, and most importantly, as a loving, loyal, and confident family companion.

20 December

OUR DAUGHTER GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE! Shannon earned her Bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in history at the University of Colorado, in a mere three-and-a-half years. She accepted her diploma in front of friends and family just 10 days after her 21st birthday, making her the youngest graduate in her senior class. We want to thank all of our wonderful extended puppy families for their congratulations, generous gifts, and well wishes.

The celebration was made extra special for us when we were able to share it with Shannon's grandfather, who flew in from Pittsburgh, our dear friends for many years who live in Boulder, and one of our friends of just under 2 years and his dog, Corinne Von Scotlynburgh. "NIKI", an amazing puppy out of our Rio and Windy litter, joined us after the ceremony for photographs, quickly stealing the spotlight and attention from the curious strangers who approached her. She was happy to show everyone her sweet and friendly disposition, making sure nobody walked away without getting at least one big kiss "hello" and "goodbye" on their face.

We couldn't be more proud of Shannon and now we all look toward a bright and successful future for her. After a completing a phenomenal magazine internship, during which she had numerous articles published including several features, we have no doubt that she has a marvelous career ahead of her. We believe she will accomplish all of her goals with the same style, grace, and tenacity she has shown throughout her life thus far. CONGRATULATIONS SHANNON...WE LOVE YOU!!!

13 October

Othello was shown at the WDA North American Sieger Show, under SV Judge Johann Mayer. He was the lone sable dog in the tremendously competitive 12-18 month male class, and placed SG11. He received a nice critique, looked terrific in the stand, and gaited wonderfully. Othello was the second highest placed sable in the entire show, finishing only behind his beautiful half sister, Joyride. THANK YOU Margit, our friend and Othello's breeder, for doing such a magnificent job handling Othello in the show ring. Without you none of this would have been possible!

6 October

Carrera on right

Carrera Von Scotlynburgh earned her BH at the Southern Ontario Working Group Schutzhund trial, in Georgetown, Ontario Canada, under Judge Fred Marashi. Along with her owner/handler Olga Kalinkina, she performed a nearly flawless obedience routine. Carrera is preparing for her first Schutzhund title and is well on her way toward success. We are tremendously proud of Carrera and thrilled for Olga. CONGRATULATIONS to both of you for achieving such a fine accomplishment in Carrera's blossoming career.

5 October

Bronx Von Scotlynburgh (Ivan) earned the second leg of his AKC CD obedience title with a score of 192.5 out of a possible 200 points. Ivan came in 2nd place out of 6 dogs, making both his owner/handler Freddie Serrano and us very proud. CONGRATULATIONS Ivan and Freddie! Just one more leg needed to achieve Ivan's CD...we look forward to the two of you completing it soon.

29 September

Cutter Von Scotlynburgh Cutter Von Scotlynburgh earned his CANINE GOOD CITIZEN certificate with his owner and best friend, Vince. We could not be more proud of Vince for his faithful commitment to Cutter, training him in obedience while always finding creative ways to combine play, keeping Cutter both interested and happy. CONGRATULATIONS VINCE! Thank you (and your parents) for giving Cutter such a wonderful home. I know he is the happiest dog on the planet every weekday afternoon when he hears the brakes from your school bus squeak to a stop, and then watches from the window as you walk up to your house. You are a great kid and your mom and dad should be very proud! CONGRATULATIONS to Cutter as well, the handsome star...you made us tremendously proud!

16 September

Bronx Von Scotlynburgh, Rio Di Casa Nobili, Wizzy Von Fidelius, and Margman Othello were shown at the annual Colorado Alpine Schutzhund Club Conformation Show, under Austrian SV Judge and Kormeister Johann Zizsler. Both Rio and Wizzy placed V1, and each were given superb critiques. This was Othello's first time being shown in the United States and he made us proud, placing SG1, also receiving a splendid critique from Mr. Zizsler. Bronx (Ivan), belonging to our dear friends, Freddie and Carmen, placed SG2, in the largest class entered in the show, and among a group of very nice boys.

We wish to thank Freddie and his Schutzhund "group" from El Paso, Texas for all of their hard work preparing Rio and Ivan for this show. It was obvious to the Judge that both dogs were well trained in the ring and in impeccable physical condition.

We would also like to thank Freddie, Carmen, and their kids for taking such wonderful care of Rio during the past few months while he was living in their home with them in Texas. Your friendship is priceless...we love you!

4 August

Carrera Von Scotlynburgh was shown at the CANADIAN SIEGER SHOW in the 12-18 month class, under SV Judge Ernst Seifert. He awarded her with the top conformation show rating possible in her age group, SG, and a very nice critique, specifically commenting on her correct top and bottom line, straight front, strong head, and good expression. Presenting a dog at a Sieger Show is never easy, and the competition is unbelievable at that level. CONGRATULATIONS to both Olga and Carrera for making us so proud! The love you two share for one another is rare indeed, and the bond you have created together is unparalleled. We look forward to hearing more good news and about additional accomplishments regarding Carrera's career as she is currently training and preparing for her first working title.

24 June

Nordica

Nordica was shown at the Deutscher Schaferhunde Club of San Diego
Southern Pacific REGIONAL Conformation Show, under SV Judge and Koermeister Henning Setzer. With an impressive 111 total entries, the 6-9 females had the largest class, 15 very nice young puppies. Nordica was the only sable puppy in her class, and after the individual exams were completed, she was put in 4th place. During the group gaiting, she decided it would be more fun to play and act like a silly puppy rather than allow everyone see what she had been learning as a lovely young show girl. Despite having a "bad day", Nordica earned a respectable
placement and her second VP rating. More importantly, Mr. Setzer gave her a nearly flawless critique and raved about her physical beauty. Additionally, the compliments we received about Nordica from many of the top California breeders were both welcome and sincerely appreciated. We also wish to thank Tessa Martinez, a wonderful junior handler, for taking Nordica into the ring for us.

9 June

Nordica

Nordica was shown in California at the Menlo Park Conformation Show, and placed 2nd under SV Judge Wilfried Scheld. He made special mention about how she reminded him very much of her famous grandfather, VA Timo, and followed up with a glowing critique, specifically commenting on her strength in gaiting the longer she ran. Nordica earned her first VP rating, and we wish to thank Jose Jasso for his excellent job presenting and handling her in the 6-9 month puppy class.

13 May

Bronx von Scotlynburgh (IVAN) and Freddie didn't waste any time making news again! They earned the first leg of Ivan's CD with an impressive score of 189 out of 200, placing 3rd out of 14 dogs under AKC Judge Patricia R. Krause, in Albuquerque, NM. She made special mention about how they should have great fun getting many more titles together because it was obvious by the way Ivan never stopped wagging his tail during their routine that he was having lots of fun and is very eager to please. CONGRATULATIONS to Freddie and Ivan for their outstanding performance, and thank you for once again making us so immensely proud! We look forward to Ivan finishing the next two legs of his CD without a glitch.

14-15 April

Freddie Serrano, our dear friend, dog trainer, and owner of one of Windy's sons, Bronx von Scotlynburgh (IVAN), made us immensely proud this weekend by achieving both his USA Regional level helper status, AND BH with Ivan. Freddie and Ivan's obedience routine was nearly flawless under USA Judge Mike Hamilton at the O.G. Valencia SchH Verein in Los Lunas, New Mexico. They share a phenomenal bond, which was clearly visible to the crowd in attendance, and eagerly commented on by the judge during their outstanding critique. We have had the pleasure of watching the relationship between Freddie and Ivan evolve from animated goofy puppy and excited "dad" to ardently loyal best friends. CONGRATULATIONS to both Ivan AND Freddie for a job well done! We look forward to seeing the two of them compete again in the not so distant future. Thank you again Freddie and Ivan for making us so incredibly proud!

31 January - 6 February

Von Scotlynburgh is thrilled to announce our newest imports out of 5 time VA Margman Torsten, who is arguably the best son out of VA2 Timo vom Berrekasten in the world today. Pskovland Oscha is from Russia, and Briatore Nordica and Margman Othello are both from Estonia.

We imported one black and red, and two sable puppies out of 5 time VA Margman Torsten. We had been searching for some time to find a super show line sable bloodline, but due to the consistently strong progeny for two generations, only one combination sparked our interest: VA Timo and VA Torsten.

A sincere thanks to Margit Kuusman of Kennel Margman for making this possible. After several months of email exchanges, a couple of phone calls, and many appreciated photos, the invitation to Estonia was extended and I graciously accepted. On January 31st I was greeted in Tallinn by Margit, Margman Joyride (a stunning sable Torsten daughter), and Katrin, Joyride's and Torsten's owner. I immediately felt welcome and was eager to embark on my adventure in a land so far from my home.

Margit, Katrin, and their friend Elo were phenomenal tour guides, educating me in the rich history of the Old Town, while being kind as I experienced the charm of their unique and wonderful city through the eyes (and camera) of an enthusiastic tourist. I ate fabulous Estonian and Russian food at quaint cafes, learned an Estonian word or two, and even went to a pub with Margit and Katrin for dinner and karaoke finals. Although I vowed not to eat at McDonald's, Margit and I did sneak in a Big Mac meal, but only once, and at her request.

We walked along the shoreline by the Gulf of Finland over a mixture of sand and snow while the dogs, oblivious to the frigid temperatures, frolicked in the ocean's gentle waves. I also attended show training at 9:30 in the evening, with an astonishing 25-30 dogs in attendance. Everyone was involved, remarkably supportive, and actively helping one another prepare for an upcoming show in Finland.

Thank you Margit, Katrin, and Elo for sharing your lovely city with me, and a special thanks also to Katrin (and Joyride) for inviting me to stay in their home for a week. I truly enjoyed the many hours we stayed up late drinking tea, talking, and laughing. I feel as though I made new friends during my trip to Estonia, and I'm grateful for that. I feel privileged to have visited Estonia and will cherish the memories forever.

And of course, thank you Torsten for giving us Nordica, Oscha, and Othello!

28 October

Wizzy Von Fidelius was shown at the WDA North American Sieger Show in St. Louis, Missouri under SV Judge Ernst Rückert. It proved to be quite a challenge running around the ring in the deep mud, and after struggling with the difficult decision deciding whether or not to show her, we are proud to announce that Wizzy earned her second SG rating in as many shows.

Cobra von Scotlynburgh (RENZO) was awarded the CANINE GOOD CITIZEN certificate. Additionally, he earned the unique honor of “class clown” out of an impressive 17 dogs. We are exceedingly proud of Renzo and his “mom” Dorothy for doing such a super job, but are particularly delighted that Renzo had so much fun amusing his class. We are thrilled that Renzo is able to enjoy being obedient while having his wonderful character shine through. He is showing enormous promise balancing play and work. CONGRATULATIONS Renzo and Dorothy!

20 October

Carrera von Scotlynburgh was shown for the first time, at a REGIONAL Conformation Show, in Ontario Canada, under Judge Johannes Grewe, where she earned a very promising rating. She placed VP3 in a very nice class of 6-9 month old puppies and received a great critique. Thank you Olga for your passion and enthusiasm toward Carrera’s blossoming career and CONGRATULATIONS to both of you for a job well done! We will look for Carrera again at future shows.

18 October

Clarice von Scotlynburgh (JESSE) earned her CANINE GOOD CITIZEN certificate, and was the youngest dog in her class, at just 7 months old. She obeyed every command and had the best healing and recall of the three dogs taking the test. Thank you Kathy and Sydney for your devotion, dedication, and immense commitment to your special girl. And of course CONGRATULATIONS to Jess, the star, for making all of us so tremendously proud!

7 October

Wizzy Von Fidelius was shown at her first conformation show in the United States and placed SG3 in an exceptionally competitive 18-24 month class at the Wesconn Schaeferhund Verein WDA Northeastern REGIONAL Conformation Show, under SV Judge and Körmeister Hans-Peter Schweimer. Wizzy received an outstanding critique with particular mention being made to her spirited personality and fantastic movement. The 18-24 month females were praised by Herr Schweimer as being the best quality class he judged all day.

30 September

Campina von Scotlynburgh earned her third very promising rating after placing VP1 at the Rocky Mountain/Great Plains REGIONAL Conformation show in Los Lunas, New Mexico under National Breed Warden and USA Judge Karen MacIntyre.

Bronx von Scotlynburgh (IVAN) was shown at the Rocky Mountain/Great Plains REGIONAL Conformation Show under National Breed Warden and USA Judge Karen MacIntyre. Ivan received a super critique and the highest rating a dog of his age can achieve, SG. He placed SG2 and presented himself like a seasoned veteran, although it was just his first time in a show ring. CONGRATULATIONS to Ivan's "parents", Freddie and Carmen, for doing such a terrific job preparing him for the show and of course CONGRATULATIONS to Ivan for making all of their hard work look so effortless.
